Governor Announces Appointments to Summit, Sandusky County Courts

Columbus, Ohio – Governor Ted Strickland announced today the appointments of Robert Gippin to the Summit County Court of Common Pleas and Roger Hafford to the Sandusky County Court of Common Pleas.

Gippin, of Akron, was appointed to the Summit County seat vacated by the retirement of Judge Marvin A. Shapiro.

“Robert’s career is marked by meaningful legal and courtroom experience and a history of service to Summit County,” Strickland said. “I am confident that he will serve the common pleas court with hard work and professionalism.”

Hafford, of Fremont, was appointed to the Sandusky County seat vacated by the retirement of Judge James Sherck.

“Roger’s legal expertise, coupled with a life-long commitment to his community, makes him well-suited to serve as a fair and effective judge in Sandusky County,” Strickland said.
